About Me

Hello! My name is Marayna Martinez (she/her), and I am an Assistant Professor in Political Science at the University of Colorado Boulder. I am also the Associate Director of the Research on Accountability, Civics, and Equity (RACE) Lab

I study American politics with a focus on education policy. My research and teaching interests include race and ethnic politics, political behavior, policy feedback, and K12 education policy. I am particularly interested in the feedback effects of public education on the political development of children of color.

Previously, I was a Presidential Postdoctoral Research Fellow at Princeton University in the Department of Politics. I received a joint PhD in political science and public policy from Duke University in 2023. Before obtaining my PhD, I received my B.S. in Electrical Engineering and Political Science from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 2018.
